Hikvision, the world’s leading supplier of innovative video surveillance products and solutions, successfully held the 2018 AI Cloud Ecosystem Connect Summit on 28th August at the HGH Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur. With the theme “Shaping Intelligence”, the summit highlighted Hikvision’s strategy this year to introduce its latest and most advanced security-related AI Cloud solutions, and marked the official opening of Hikvision Malaysia subsidiary. Seagate Technologies, its storage solutions partner, also provided support for the event.
The company first introduced AI Cloud back in October 2017 at the China Public Security Expo in Shenzhen. ‘AI Cloud’ is a highly efficient, three-layered architecture that incorporates cloud and edge computing to provide multi-dimensional perception and front-end processing. It extends the use of AI technology to edge devices, distributing the overall pressure of analysing large amounts of data by the entire system.
Hikvision provides AI Cloud products from perception, storage, computing to data analysis. The company also promotes product interoperability by having an open system architecture, allowing all its partners to create and share products and services within the AI Cloud ecosystem. Therefore, IoT providers, data scientists, intelligence analysts or applications developers can all easily find their own positions to fit into Hikvision’s AI Cloud ecosystem. To date, Hikvision has already innovated many vertical solutions based on the AI Cloud ecosystem, most typically are Smart City Solutions, Intelligent Traffic Systems, and Integrated Security Solutions.
Mr. Hu Yangzhong, President of Hikvision.
In his opening speech, Mr Hu Yangzhong, President of Hikvision, highlighted that in the past 18 years, Hikvision has focused on the development of intelligent video surveillance technologies. Hikvision and its peers have been actively cooperating in the aspect of video signal acquisition, video image processing, structural analysis, compression transmission, storage and industrial applications. Then, at the dawn of the AI era, Hikvision conceived the concept of AI Cloud. He said, "We believe that the IoT in this AI era should provide ‘cloud-side fusion’ solutions, which are edge-perception, on-demand aggregation, hieratical perception and layered applications. And, video surveillance is a typical pioneering application of IoT.”
Mr Hu added, “More than a decade ago, with the emergence of digital surveillance, Hikvision had incorporated together with its partners to provide Malaysian users with products such as compression boards, DVRs, analogue cameras, TVI cameras, IP Cameras, NVRs and servers. Now, in the Malaysian market, we are shifting from the international trade model, to becoming a localised products and solutions provider. We want to work together with our partners to serve the Malaysian market in achieving greater customer experience and satisfaction.”
In addition to presentations on the Introduction of AI Cloud Ecosystem and AI Cloud Application references, the summit also concluded a 30 minute panel discussion in its event program. Amongst the topics deliberated, the panel shared their experiences directly from challenges in managing a surveillance system, and also discussed on ways to improve effectiveness in vertical markets with AI Cloud and intelligent analytics.
Before closing the event, the attendees at the summit who stayed on until the end had the opportunity to win some exciting lucky draw prizes such as Hikvision’s Ezviz Smart Home Security Cameras and Seagate Technologies’ personal cloud drives. The 2018 AI Cloud Ecosystem Connect Summit also allowed attendees to view and experience Hikvision’s latest AI products and capabilities, including some of the products that have been launched last year.
